Many buyers ask for a price in the first message. If a factory sends you a price range before confirming a single design detail, that is not professionalism — it is guessing. Four steps. Here is exactly how a UP Fashion quotation is built.
Silhouette, fit, detailing, feel — the effect your customer buys. This is the part you think about.
Which construction, which seams, which flow reaches that effect — choosing how it is made is our job.
A factory that quotes before this confirmation is not saving you time — it is selling you a number it cannot stand behind.
After you send the styles you want to develop, we replay the design back to you — in words and pictures — and confirm the actual effect you want: silhouette, fit, detailing, feel.
Nothing is quoted against a misunderstood design. A misunderstanding discovered after sampling costs weeks. Discovered before quoting, it costs nothing.
One garment can be made at many quality levels, and "high quality" means something different to every founder. Your target price range or retail price range tells us which production method, which grade of fabric and trims, and which production plan can stay inside your number.
If you prefer not to share a range: we quote at our highest quality standard by default. But if our definition of "high-end" and yours differ, the quote may come back higher than expected — or feel unreasonable to you. Sharing the range simply makes the quotation efficient.
Who fits us best: brands retailing around $200–1,000 match our level — founders who care intensely about construction details and fit. Within $150–200, whether your ideal target cost is reachable depends on the specific style — we will tell you honestly after reviewing it.
A quotation is not typed out the moment the details are confirmed. Inside the factory, four people do four different jobs before a number exists:
Compiles every design detail and translates them into Chinese for the factory pattern team
Initial calculation of fabric and trims consumption, plus wastage estimation
Works backwards from your target price to the right price level and type of fabric, then calculates the true per-meter price
Plans the production flow by construction complexity, craft type and your target range, and calculates the labor hours
Fabric & trims + labor + packaging + production wastage + fabric wastage + our margin = your FOB price.
Once the internal costing is done, your contact — Deng or Kiki — prepares a formal quotation plan. Everything you need to compare, decide and move to sampling is on one document:
All four steps done — your quotation plan is on its way, usually within one working day of the final calculation.
Main fabric, lining, threads, zippers, buttons — everything the garment is made of, for every single piece in your order.
Woven labels, size labels, washing labels, hang tags, frosted zip-lock polybags (or logo-printed polybags), size stickers, style-name / style-number stickers, cardboard inserts, and 7-ply reinforced cartons. Note: logo printing on the cartons is not included.
Our internal three inspections per garment — in-line, after-finish and final — plus the QC report we provide with your order.
Not included: shipping.
The FOB price covers everything up to loading. Freight is the only cost outside it — and we quote it transparently in your plan instead of hiding it inside the unit price.
Why won't you give a price before confirming the design?
Because one garment can be made at many quality levels, a price issued before the design effect is confirmed is a guess — not a quotation. Confirming the design first is how the number we send can be defended, line by line.
Why do you need my target price or retail range?
Your range tells us which production method, fabric grade and trims can stay inside your number. Without it we quote at our highest standard by default — and if our definition of high-end differs from yours, the quote may feel unreasonable to you.
What retail price range fits your factory best?
From our experience, brands retailing around $200-1,000 match us best — founders who care intensely about construction details and fit. If your retail range is within $150-200, whether your ideal target cost is reachable depends on the specific style, and we will assess it honestly.
What does the FOB price include?
All fabric and trims for every piece; full packaging (woven and size labels, washing labels, hang tags, frosted or logo-printed polybags, size and style stickers, cardboard inserts, 7-ply cartons — carton logo printing excluded); and our three internal inspections with the QC report. Only shipping is outside the FOB price.
Send your styles or just the effect you want — we confirm the design first, then build a quotation plan you can compare and defend.
